Networks, formularies, and benefits all shift each year. Here's what changed for Utah plans — and how it affects you.

Every year, Medicare Advantage plans send out an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) — and every year, the details inside it matter. For 2026, many Utah plans adjusted their networks, drug formularies, premiums, and extra benefits. A plan that was a great fit last year isn’t automatically the best fit this year.

This article covers the 2026 Medicare Advantage plan year. Plans can change from one year to the next, so the specifics described here may not match your plan today. For our broader guide to reviewing and changing your coverage, see Annual Enrollment Period Explained.

What commonly changes

  • Provider networks — your doctor or hospital may move in or out of network
  • Drug formularies — your medications may shift tiers or require new approvals
  • Premiums and copays — even $0-premium plans can change cost-sharing
  • Extra benefits — dental, vision, hearing, and OTC allowances are adjusted

What to do about it

Read your ANOC, then check three things: are your doctors still in network, are your drugs still covered affordably, and did your out-of-pocket costs change? The Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7) is your window to switch for the coming year.
